The Grafton buying guides

Will the delivery truck reach your block?

The storage footprint is only part of the delivery plan. The vehicle also needs a usable approach and room to unload.

Capture the approach in order

Take photographs from the public road towards the entrance, through each turn and on to the proposed placement area. Note gates, shared driveways, crossings and changes of surface.

Show overhead services and branches from a safe distance. Do not approach electrical infrastructure to take measurements. Tell the transporter about anything you cannot safely assess.

Describe the working area

A tilt-tray, sidelifter and crane vehicle have different operating needs. Choosing one from a few website answers would skip important information about the load, reach and ground.

Flag slopes, soft edges, underground services and recent weather. The transport provider needs to decide what further inspection or preparation is required.

Agree the plan before the date

Confirm the door orientation, unloading location and who is responsible for preparing the site. Keep the agreed access clear when delivery is arranged.

Ask what happens if weather or site conditions change. A transport quotation should describe the agreed job and any conditions rather than promise that any container can be put anywhere.

Let’s make room

A bit more space starts here.

Tell us the size, your location and what you have in mind. We’ll help you work through the options.
