20 Foot Shipping Containers
20ft shipping containers
Room for tools, furniture and business overflow in a footprint about six metres long. A practical starting point for comparing new and used storage containers.
Start with what goes inside
A 20ft container offers roughly 33 cubic metres before shelves, walkways and packing gaps. A list of your largest items is more useful than a volume estimate alone. Check whether each item will pass through the door and whether you can reach the things at the back.
For a Grafton renovation, group items by when you will need them. For trade storage, allow a clear aisle and think about how long lengths will be carried through the doors. Keep wet equipment separate from moisture-sensitive contents.
Choose condition before colour
Compare a new single-trip unit with the actual used container offered. New units can have handling marks. Used units vary in dents, repairs, floor wear and door operation; a low price alone does not explain those differences.
Ask for photos of the roof, doors, seals and floor, plus a written condition description. If keeping contents dry matters, have the quoted grade and any water-tightness assurance confirmed for that individual unit. As-is is a different proposition.
New single-trip
Ask about a new 20ft unit in your preferred colour. Single-trip containers may have handling marks; request current photos.
Used condition
Compare the floor, doors, seals and repairs on the individual 20ft unit. Availability and the condition grade are confirmed in your quote.
A note on as-is. As-is containers are not sold as wind and watertight. They may need repairs and are unsuitable for contents that must stay dry unless those repairs are assessed and completed.
Colour preferences are subject to availability. Ask for photos of the actual unit.
